Daytime horror in Lagos: Robbers invade Lekki bank, kill three policemen, girl

Three policemen and a fish seller were killed on Thursday by a gang of robbers who stormed the First City Monument Bank on Admiralty Way in Lekki, Lagos State.
It was learnt that the robbers, numbering 13 arrived the bank wearing military uniform and shooting sporadically for about 30 minutes.

FG hires European mercenaries to fight B’Haram

There are indications that Nigeria has brought in hundreds of mercenaries from Eastern Europe to strengthen   its war against militant Islamic group, Boko Haram.
The   Eastern European mercenaries have joined their South-African counterparts and Nigerian soldiers fighting the insurgents.

BBM gets Custom PINs, Android Wear support and Several new Features

Custom BBM PINs will let you create a unique, alphanumeric PIN. The No Ads sub will cost $0.99 USD per month and will remove all ads from your feed and eliminate sponsored invites while a Custom PIN subscription will cost $1.99 USD per month and will let you create a custom BBM PIN that’s 6-8 characters long and is made up of letters and numbers.

BlackBerry had announced BBM for Android Wear in January. Now the support is going live for Android Wear smartwatches. Users will also be able to read entire messages on their smartwatch, navigate among them and dismiss notifications with simple swipes. They can accept BBM invites from their smartwatch and respond to messages hands-free through Google Now.

The iOS version of BBM gains support for TouchID, which will allow users to secure their BBM chats with their fingerprint. In addition, the latest BBM update will bring support for photos in BBM Groups and some goodies for Android and iOS.

A fire outbreak has occurred in a plaza on Ereko Street in Idumota, Lagos Island. The fire started this afternoon from the middle floor of the plaza and luckily, fire fighters quickly responded to the calls they got. Two other plazas have been affected by fire lately in Lagos Island, with traders loosing goods worth millions of Naira. ISIS militants in northern Syria released 19 Assyrian Christian hostages

ISIS militants in northern Syria released 19 Assyrian Christian hostages Sunday, an activist group said.
According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, all but one of the hostages were among the at least 220 Assyrians captured on February 23 during an attack on villages in the northern Syrian province of al-Hasakah.
The Syrian Observatory had said previously that a self-proclaimed ISIS court ordered the release of 29 Assyrian Christian hostages, citing an Assyrian commander.
